John Danaher is currently one of the most respected BJJ coaches in the world. He is a black belt under Renzo Gracie and once assembled a vicious BJJ competitor team known as the Danaher Death Squad (DDS).
Recently, Danaher showed up in Bernardo Faria’s Youtube channel to share his insights on the arm bar from mount position. This is probably the most basic submission you will learn in BJJ and it is often taught during trial classes.
While the arm bar from mount is a basic move, Danaher provides a lot of details on how to execute it perfectly against someone who knows how to defend well in BJJ.
These details, as you can see in the video below, will allow you to maintain a dominant position as you slowly force your opponent to go deeper into the submission before finally break their arms:
