One of the best ways to generate a new income stream from the internet is affiliate marketing. You can do it full-time or as a side-hustle, and there are tools that will help you be more successful. In this post, I'll talk about 10 tools that every affiliate marketer should have in their arsenal to make their first and future commissions.

A blog is a necessity for affiliate marketers and anyone who tells you that you do not need one is straight up lying because they probably only want to sell you their "get rich quick" program.

In order to be successful as an affiliate marketer, you need somewhere for people to find out about you and your product offers.

A blog will also allow you build an audience on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, which can ultimately lead to more sales.

A blog is basically like a headquarter or virtual address where you can display yourself, your brand and your expertise so that people will find a reason to trust you and why they should believe in your recommendations.

5 steps to start a blog

Step #1: Get a domain name

A domain name is the name/address of your website.

It's important to choose something that is relevant to your business or your brand, for example: is the domain name of my blog that you are currently reading.

Step #2: Find a web hosting service

Once you have chosen your domain name, you need to find a web host for your website.

A web host is basically the company that will store your website's files and make them available online 24/11.

There are many different web hosts to choose from, so it's important to do some research before deciding which one is right for you.

Some popular web host services for blog are HostGator and SiteGround.

Step #3: Purchase an SSL certificate from your web host

You can use tools like LetsEncrypt or StartSSL to do this for you automatically.

An SSL certificate is an important security measure for your website. It will encrypt the data that passes between your site and your visitors, ensuring that their information is protected.

If you're not sure whether or not you need an SSL certificate, check out this article from GoDaddy.

Step #4: Install WordPress

WordPress is a free software that's designed for blogging. It's an open-source blogging platform that has tools to help you easily create or edit your blog.

You can use WordPress to share your thoughts with the world, connect with people through social media, and set up your own blog.

There are many different plugins you can use with WordPress to make your blog even better. Combining different plugins can enhance your blog from just a personal diary into a fully functioning affiliate marketing platform.

If you are unsure about installing WordPress on your own, you can always ask the customer support of your web host service company to do it for you. It only takes a couple of minutes and your blog will be ready for you to work on.

Step #5: Connect you blog with social media

Once your blog is set up, you'll need to connect it with social media. This allows people who like or follow your business on these platforms to see when you post new content on your blog.

It's also a great way for them to share the things that they find interesting in their feed and reach even more of your target audience. You can use tools like Magic Submitter to automate the sharing process of your blog content in multiple social media platforms.

Tool #2: Email marketing platform

Pricing: Save 18% with an annual plan

Email marketing is a great way to keep in touch with your current and potential customers.

It's important to determine what tools you'll need before starting your campaign. There are several tools that can help you set up, design, and send out emails efficiently.

My choice of email marketing platform is GetResponse.

GetResponse is an email marketing platform that offers a variety of tools to help you create and send out emails. It's a great platform for businesses of all sizes, and it's easy to use.

You can create custom email templates, track the results of your campaigns, and even merge data from your CRM (customer relationship management) system with your email marketing lists.

One of the best things about GetResponse is that you can try it for free.

You can sign up for a 30-day trial and see how it works for you.

If you decide that it's not the right platform for you, you can always cancel your account without any hassle.

Tool #3: A sales funnel

A sales funnel is a customized sales process for different types of customers.

The top of the funnel targets customers who are just beginning to consider your product or service while the bottom of the funnel focuses on those who already know and trust you.

The first goal is to get people interested in your product or service, so they'll go through the motion of filling out a form on your website.

These leads will typically be unqualified, meaning they don't meet all of your criteria for a sale.

But, you want as many leads as possible that might convert into purchasers, so this is where lead magnets come into play: tools like ebooks and webinars that cost little money and take little time to deliver.

Affiliate marketers can benefit from using a sale funnel because it allows them to track the progress of their customers through the buying process.

This information can help them fine-tune their marketing strategy and improve their sales results.

A sales funnel also helps affiliate marketers to identify which products are most popular with their customers. This information can help them to create more effective marketing campaigns for those products.

Finally, a sale funnel can help affiliate marketers to determine which marketing channels are most effective for promoting their products.

Creating a sales funnel from scratch, however, can be difficult. If you are a newbie and want to have a done-for-you sales funnel to promote affiliate products, you might want to check out Funnel Mates.

There are a couple of reasons on why you want to host and use your own landing page using a builder plugin/theme:
- You have complete freedom on how you want to set up the funnels.
- The funnels are completely owned by you and therefore, every single lead that goes through your funnel is also 100% your lead. The leads are not shared with any third party platform owner.

Tool #5: Link tracker

A link tracker is a tool that helps you keep track of your affiliate links.

It's a great way to monitor which links that have high conversion rates so you can put more focus on them.

There are several different link trackers available. A free and reliable one is Bitly.

You can also use Bitly to create custom links that include tracking data. This is a great way to track the success of your social media campaigns.

Bitly also offers a paid version of their tool that includes more features, such as advanced analytics and team tracking. But, the free version is more than enough for most small businesses.

Please note that I do not recommend newbies to do native ad campaigns because they can be very expensive if you are on a budget. A native ad campaign could cost you $100 per day at the minimum so do not try this unless you are sure and really know what you are doing.
