Part #1: Guard instructional videos

The guard is a position in which one combatant has their back to the ground while attempting to control their opponent using their legs.

This can be done by wrapping their legs around the other person's waist, or by placing their feet on the other person's chest and locking their ankles.

The guard is a key part of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where it can be used as an offensive position. This makes it a very important part of the game, and one that you should focus on if you want to become a better BJJ player.

Part #2: Guard passing instructional videos

In BJJ, you are not in control of the match even if you are on top as long as your opponent's guard is still up.

This can be frustrating for new students who are used to other grappling sports where being on top usually means you're in control.

In BJJ, the guard is a very effective position that can allow your opponent to sweep or submit you even when they're bottom.

Therefore, one of the first things you need to learn in BJJ is how to deal with the guard.
